On Tuesday, December 5, thousands of donors will unite to support Colorado nonprofits like ours. In the ten years since it was founded, Colorado Gives Day has raised more than $145.3 million and is one of the most successful gives-day in the country. As you plan your donations for this year’s event, we’re asking you to remember us.
We’ve had an amazing year – we completed renovations, we’ve increased security with video surveillance and video intercoms, and now we’re shuffling around our office space so we can double our capacity for supervised visits and exchanges because we are now operating seven days a week and have more families asking for services.
We remain the only non-profit in Boulder County offering supervised visits and exchanges and we offer these services on a sliding fee scale. On average, each family pays $25 per hour for a supervised visit which is far below the actual cost and significantly below, what such a visit would cost if supervised by a mental health professional in private practice.
It is critical for the safety of the children in our community that we keep our services affordable and we’re asking for your help in doing that.
First, you can make a donation and believe us, any amount will help. This is always true but even more so with Colorado Gives Day because there is a $1 Million Incentive Fund. When you make a donation of any size, we’ll receive a portion of this fund which increases the value of every dollar donated.
Check out our donation page on ColoradoGives.org. There’s no need to wait until December 5 to take action. You can go there right now and schedule your donation for December 5.
Second, you can tell your friends and family members, even those who are out-of-state and out-of-country about Colorado Gives Day by sharing the link to Children’s First on Colorado Gives with them or just forward this email to them.
As a supporter of Children First, we know our mission is as important to you to you as it is to us and we are grateful to you for your support. However you choose to support us on Colorado Gives Day, you’ll be helping us continue to foster parent-child relationships in a safe and supportive environment.
P.S. Have you heard of the national #GivingTuesday event? It’s on November 28 so if you want to support both events, on November 28 you can go to our ColoradoGives page and schedule your donation for December 5. How easy is that!
